“Drinks drank down…maybe I should go now to the unknown; my heartbeat won’t slow down. Creeping in lights illuminate my access, taking my chances in a city crowd…”
– Staring at a Felt Ceiling
“The Case of Gretta Conners (now known as Ani Called Alpha) was first opened by video artist Stevie Ce. in 2003. Originally an experimental vehicle for Steve’s video work, it became something much more intense. As time progressed the project matured into what it is today: Accessible, fun music with layers of complexity to thrill the ear as well as the mind; toe-tapping, head bopping art. Sonically influenced by the synth-pop sounds of the 80’s, the emotional throws of 70’s post-punk, and the simple beauty of 60’s garage rock, The Case of Gretta Conners creates a truly unique, smooth hybrid for the 21st century.” (taken from the CGC13 website)
In 2008 multiple remixes of the band’s single “Staring at a Felt Ceiling” was remixed by gothic dance party extraordinaire, Myyyyke Flahertyyyyy. Both the “Testudo” and “Lepus” remixes can be downloaded below.
